GARDE FLAD H108

Give your guests a royal welcome with the new Welcome Guards with flags. Kay Bojesen was able to create original stories in wood like no other. He could make the tree come alive, and it does so throughout the series of wooden figures – each more iconic than the other. This unique Welcome Guards with flags in the well-known red, blue and white colours is, like all the famous Kay Bojesen Guards, inspired by one of Denmark's national symbols from Amalienborg Palace Square. Kay Bojesen created the Guards for the first time in 1940 on the occasion of King Christian X's 70th birthday as a tribute to the Danish King, and with the new Welcome Guards, you can both celebrate your birthdays at home in style and pay tribute to the new King Frederik X. Compared to the classic Kay Bojesen guards, the Welcome Guard is made as a silhouette in a flat version that is easy to store and display for the birthday or when guests come to visit. In pictures from the archives from the late 1940s, it can be seen that it was originally born with a rifle, but in this festive version it has instead been given a flag that can be easily attached. Welcome The guard measures 108 cm in height and is made of FSC-certified® birch plywood with a flag pole and boots in FSC-certified® beech wood.
